CHESTER - WHERE THE PAST AND THE PRESENT COINSIDES acrylic and enamel on canvas, 50cm/60cm
Chester - a city engulfed in history, incredible stories and amazing architecture.
As a townscape artist, I would like to show my version of the city of Chester. It is called: ‘Chester – where the past and the present coincides.’ and 'Where Are We Going AFter That'
WHAT HAPPENED IN CHESTER?
I'm fascinated with haunted places.
I hope to see a ghost one day, at least feel it... Maybe it will tell me its story, that very moment of death, the tragedy and trauma that caused the spirit to get stuck in a thin air instead of going to the light...
There is a story about a Roman legionnaire: he was in love with a girl and one night left his post on the city walls to get to meet her...
But her family was wicked - they'd used his weakness against him and while he was gone, they killed the sentries he had left on guard and looted the place.
When he came back he was murdered too!
Now his soul is stuck on the walls still trying to stick to his duty and protect his lot... Poor soul...
LIVERPOOL ECHO, Acrylic and enamel on canvas, framed: 130cm/80cm
Colours sing to me!!
My work stands out by strong COLOURS. I have particular trait - I can see words in colour and I hear music when looking at colours, or taste: sour, acidic, sweet, creamy when music is playing… This brain particularity is called: synesthesia. (It’s when one sense triggers another - eg.: I hear and my vision is triggered, or I can look at colours and hear music etc.)
In my picture LIVERPOOL ECHO here the impact was placed on the sky. There is a symphony playing as the reflection of evening sky sets and spreads calmly on the water...
